Michelisz meets the Lamborghini Super Trofeo

Norbert Michelisz has checked the car he will race this weekend on the Hungaroring in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo. The Hungarian driver is impressed by the Italian sportscar and aims to make it to the podium this weekend alongside his partner Giorgio Sanna.
The 5th round of this year's Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo is about to kick off on Saturday on the Hungaroring featuring guest drivers Norbert Michelisz of Zengő-Dension Team from the FIA WTCC and Csaba Walter of Schubert Motorsport from the FIA GT3.
Both drivers received a warm welcome by the organizers of the series on the Hungaroring as the whole Lamborghini paddock showing interest towards the appearance of the local drivers. The field is preparing for a nice battle over the course of the series' maiden visit in Hungary as former Formula 1 driver Thomas Enge will also line up for the grid.
Hungarian driver Norbert Michelisz will share the driving duties with Giorgio Sanna, factory chief test driver of Lamborghini who has contributed to the development of the car and racing full time in the Italian GT. This weekend the knowledge about the car and the circuit will merge as Michelisz knows the track very well while Sanna is an expert in the Super Trofeo but haven't raced on the Hungaroring yet.

Preparations are ongoing
Michelisz arrived to the Hungaroring on the afternoon and started to discuss the details of the car and the weekend with Giorgio Sanna and the engineers following the usual administrative tasks. Later he took part the scheduled driver's briefing after checking the circuit with Sanna on a scooter.
"Today I have got the possibility to sit into the car and it was already an impressive experience. Giorgio Sanna explained how are the things are going in this car and we went around the circuit for a lap. He has already completed more than 20 laps on a test, we discussed where the braking points should be but also posed a few questions," Michelisz explained.
"I think we will be able to share our knowledge effectively even before the first free practice to use the available 20 minutes the best possible way. In any cases I expect us to be successful on the weekend," he added.
It was revealed during the discussions that no guest driver has made it to the podium this year which shows how challenging this weekend can become for the FIA WTCC driver but Michelisz said he sees a good chance of breaking this statistics on the Hungaroring.
"There is a real chance [to finish on the podium] but it can't be predicted from the outside of course. We have absolutely every chances to do that, just like Csaba Walter. I expect them to be up there, as I heard his partner is a fast driver as well and on the top of that Csaba is driving very well."

Giorgio Sanna: "We are a good team"
Lamborghini's factory test driver Giorgio Sanna said after meeting with Norbert Michelisz that he is happy to race alongside the Hungarian driver this weekend and expects a good level of cooperation between him and Lamborghini's VIP guest driver.
"I'm very happy to race with him, he is a young racing driver, he is really fast and doing a very good job in his championship, so for us it is a pleasure to have a guest like him this weekend. He knows the track very well, I know the car very well, so this should be the right mixture to make good results and have fun during the weekend," Sanna stated.
The 35 years old Italian driver said that they are curious for Michelisz's impressions about the car especially since this will be the first time that the Lamborghini Super Trofeo will race on the Hungaroring.
Beside doing their own race Sanna said that they need to keep one of their eyes on the other drivers as well because unlike the drivers of the cars #1 and #2 they're racing for the champions' title and the competition gets serious with only 6 races to go on two different circuits in Europe.
"We are here for only one race so we must drive carefully as it is possible for a racing driver. But anyway, I think we're a good team so we have a good chance. This year nobody from the guest drivers has done a podium so we hope to be the first in the season."
The action begins on Saturday
A 40 minutes free practice will be available at 9:30 for the drivers before the 30 minutes qualifying session at 11:40 and Race 1 later during the afternoon at 15:30. Norbert Michelisz will share the #1 Automobili Lamborghini VIP car with Giorgio Sanna which means he will have approximately 20 minutes tracktime before the qualifying which equals to about 10 laps in practice.
Both drivers will perform timed laps on the qualifying, the faster will place them onto the grid for Race 1 but the slower driver of the pair will start the race. Every races will be 40 minutes long runs with the drivers changing each other between the 15th and 25th minutes.
