Zengő-Dension Team entered Norbert Kiss, former back to back champion of the Hungarian SEAT Leon Super Cup to the second round of the Spanish SEAT Leon Supercopa. Kiss has been the toughest rival for Norbert Michelisz and Gábor Wéber in the Hungarian national championships.
This weekend Norbert Kiss will line up to the grid in Jarama for the second round of the 2010 Spanish SEAT Leon Supercopa as a driver of the Zengő-Dension Team. The Hungarian driver joins Attila Solti and György Kontra to form a three-car fleet for the rest of the season.
Kiss has been one of the most successful race drivers in Hungary and proved to be one of the fastest racers with front wheel drive touring cars. He has been unbeatable in various Hungarian single brand championships for four years including winning back to back titles in the first two seasons of the SEAT Leon Super Cup in Hungary.
The 25 years old driver started his career as a highly competitive player in various local and international online racing leagues and made his fortune by earning the respect of the representatives of the Proex Motorsport who provided a possibility for him to test an Opel Astra Classic single brand championship car back in 2005.
Instant success followed his debut after he was appointed to be a race driver for the team in the Opel Astra Classic Cup and claimed four victories over the course of the rest of the season and became the first driver to be awarded the ‘Rookie of the Year’ title. In 2006 he beat two times champion Gábor Wéber to take the Shell V-Power Racing Renault Clio Cup title with 10 wins and 12 podium finishes out of 13 races.
Tough rival for Michelisz and Wéber
At the beginning of the 2007 season it was likely that Kiss would be out of the racing scene but he was given a chance to take part in the Hungarian SEAT Leon Super Cup and won the series against long time rival Gábor Wéber by securing 8 race wins and was given the possibility to participate in the Porsche Supercup on the Hungaroring For 2008 Norbert Michelisz joined the field and the Kiss-Michelisz-Wéber trio dominated the season.
This was the year when Zengő Motorsport stepped up to the international level and started to participate in the SEAT Leon EuroCup. Wéber and Michelisz became competitive forces in the EuroCup but they didn’t have an easy task in Hungary either: financial troubles stopped Kiss to take part in the international series but he remained focused and took the 2008 SEAT Leon Super Cup title in an epic three-way battle against former fellow simulator racers Michelisz and Wéber.
In 2009 the SEAT Leon Super Cup faced a serious hit in terms of entries and this development forced Kiss to race in the Suzuki Swift Cup and after initial difficulties he won the title with Procar Motorsport.
Zengő-Dension Team and Kiss join forces
Although Kiss has never been the driver of Zengő Motorsport, Team Principal Zoltán Zengő and his company have supported Norbert Kiss over his career in various forms. Zengő was a key element in securing sponsorship for the young driver to be able to race in a SEAT Leon in Hungary and in 2009 Zengő Motorsport provided a Suzuki Swift for Kiss to race with it in the Hungarian championship to keep his career alive.
This year Zengő-Dension Team is expanding its activities in various touring car racing categories. Having lifted Norbert Michelisz into the World Touring Car Championship to be the first Hungarian driver to step up to the podium, the team supported Gábor Wéber to take a dominant victory in Monza on the first round of the 2010 SEAT Leon EuroCup.
Norbert Kiss replaces Norbert Michelisz for the rest of the Spanish SEAT Leon Supercopa starting from this week with three races in Jarama. Kiss joins the team to make his international racing debut in the prestigious championship. This long awaited news means that Zengő-Dension Team is now secured the services of Hungary’s three of the most competitive racing drivers and the entire front line of the 2008 SEAT Leon Super Cup.

I think Mr. Zoltán Zengő and his team made the dream of many Hungarian motor-sport fans come true this weekend.
Good luck for the team in the entire season in all the three championships (WTCC, EuroCup, Supercopa)! Keep up the hard work!
