Norbert Michelisz to race a Lamborghini

Zengő-Dension Team's Norbert Michelisz to make a guest appearance in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo in the series' maiden race on the Hungaroring. Michelisz returns to home soil after almost a year with the most powerful car he has ever raced.

One of the fastest single brand championships will visit the Hungaroring this weekend as a part of the prestigious Le Mans Series weekend that will see the maiden appearance of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo featuring two of the most respected Hungarian drivers. Norbert Michelisz will be behind the wheel of the guest car #1 and Csaba Walter in the car #2.

Norbert Michelisz, the first and so far only Hungarian driver of the FIA World Touring Car Championship was invited by the organizers to take part in the three 40 minutes long races on Saturday, the 21st of August and Sunday, the 22nd alongside official Lamborghini test driver Giorgio Sanna, who currently races a Lamborghini Super Trofeo in the Italian GT Championship.

Zengő-Dension Team's lead driver was invited after he completed 7 rounds and 14 races this year's FIA WTCC season on which he took 6 victories in the Rookie Challenge and currently placed as a runner-up in the competition that saw a retirement in Portugal from the lead due an engine failure.

The most powerful car so far for Michelisz

This weekend Michelisz will take a ride in the most powerful car he has ever raced as the Lamborghini Super Trofeo car, the modified and lighter version of the LP560-4 road car is powered by a 570 horse power V10 engine which makes it the fastest non-single seater car that Michelisz has ever tried.

What makes it even more interesting for the Hungarian driver is the fact that the car features a permanent all wheel drive that will make its behavior a lot different compared to the front wheel drive cars he usually drives. These details guarantee that the weekend will be a real specialty for the Hungarian driver who sees this as an opportunity to get a taste from the different racing category in the summer break of the FIA WTCC.

Racing at home again

More than two weeks ago a considerable group of Hungarian fans attended the 2010 FIA WTCC Race of the Czech Republic to support Norbert Michelisz and his efforts in the highest level of touring car racing. Fans vowed to travel to Oschersleben as well but for the first time in 2010 Michelisz will be racing in Hungary on the country's F1 circuit, the Hungaroring.

Brno hosted a nice celebration and a great coming together between Michelisz and the fans and this weekend a previously unexpected opportunity arises as the Hungarian driver will race on the circuit where everything began for him back in 2005 and after almost a year of a hiatus he returns back as a VIP driver of a guest car offered by Lamborghini Motorsport.

The schedule includes a 40 minutes long practice session starting at 9.30 AM on the 21st of August ahead of the 30 minutes qualifying session at 11.40. Race 1 will begin 3.30 PM and will last 40 minutes just like the two other races on Sunday starting at 8.50 and 12.05.

Just like in case of the WTCC races, our website will provide up to date news and features from the Hungaroring as well. Stay tuned for more details.
