Five days after taking a historical victory in the FIA WTCC, Norbert Michelisz and representatives of the Zengő-Dension Team arrived back to Budapest. The freezing weather stopped Hungarian Fire Department to pay tribute to the 26 years old race driver but fans gave him a warm welcome.
A few minutes past 9.30 AM Norbert Michelisz and fellow members of the victorious Zengő-Dension Team finally landed on the runway of Ferihegy 2 International Airport after 5 days of waiting since the 26 years old race driver from Hímesháza took a historical victory at the 2010 WTCC Race of Macau.
Hungarian Fire Department was set to pay tribute to the young sportsman by welcoming his arriving flight with an arch of water on the runway like they welcome the returning Olympic winners but the unexpectedly low temperatures made it impossible to hold the ceremony.
Instead the formal celebration in the cold weather, fans gave Norbert and the team a warm welcome in the arrival terminal of Ferihegy International Airport. A group of enthusiastic supporters along with representatives of the Hungarian racing scene were present.
The crowd almost appropriated the young Hungarian driver who thanked for the support to every single people who decided to pay a visit to the airport to congratulate him after his victory at the hardest and most prestigious race of the season in Macau.

History in the making
It has become more or less of a tendency in Norbert Michelisz’s career to be “the first” and sometimes “the only” driver to achieve milestones in his racing career. This time he arrived back home as the winner of the 2010 FIA WTCC Rookie Challenge and the overall winner of the 2010 Race of Macau.
The latter is special not only for being the race that everybody wishes to win once in his or her career but Michelisz is the first driver to win in Macau for SEAT; so far nobody else has done it with the cars of the Spanish brand, it was the Hungarian racer who managed to beat everybody with the Leon.
Victory in the streets was a stylish end of the season for Michelisz and Zengő-Dension Team; the squad showed a clear progress over their maiden season in the highest level of touring car racing but the team became a regular frontrunner among the rookies and more often than not a challenger for high positions in the order.
Race of Japan and more importantly Race of Macau were the high ends of the season that consisted several remarkable moments including the first podium as the winner of the rookies in Monza, the laps in position 1 in Portugal and the bittersweet weekend in Brno where the crowd celebrated Michelisz and the team like today in Budapest.
