The field of the Spanish SEAT Leon Supercopa are making a guest appearance in the schedule of the 2010 FIA WTCC Race of Portugal. Zengő-Dension Team's György Kontra, Attila Solti, Norbert Kiss and Duarte Félix da Costa hit the Autodromo Internacional Algarve as the start of the weekend.

A sunny, warm and really dry day welcome the people in the paddock of the Autodromo Internacional Algarve before the first session in which Zengő-Dension Team is involved began. This was the first practice session of the SEAT Leon Supercopa in which György Kontra and Attila Solti returned into the cockpit for the first time since Jarama.

This weekend SEAT Leon EuroCup regular Duarte Félix da Costa also joins the team on home soil with the aim of improving his record that hasn't been so successful so far this year despite being regularly on the pace. Duarte was looking forward to this race and showed the signs of relief before sitting into the car and leaving for the first practice session.

Another driver who is worth to mention is Norbert Kiss, the former back to back champion of the Hungarian SEAT Leon Super Cup. Kiss makes his second appearance this weekend in the Spanish Cup after taking a dominant victory on the third race of his maiden entry in Jarama a month ago.

Kiss said before leaving for the practice that he thinks the Autodromo Internacional Algarve will fit better for him than Jarama did and hinted that he is making changes to his driving style regarding taking the entries of some of the corners. Kiss will be more comfortable in the car this weekend since his car is now equipped with a new seat that suits better for the Hungarian driver.

Making the first steps in Portimao

Two of the Zengő-Dension Team drivers have participated in races here in Portimao which means Duarte Félix da Costa and György Kontra have experiences from the layout of the circuit. This is not the case for Norbert Kiss and Attila Solti who are new to the track and started their process of adaptation in Free Practice 1.

Not surprisingly Duarte Félix da Costa was the fastest driver in our team finishing 6th on the opening practice with a 1:58.905 after completing 15 laps. The Portuguese driver was 1.281 seconds off to pace setter Antonio De La Reina while Antoni Forne and Oscar Nogués finishing 2nd and 3rd.

Norbert Kiss started to get to know the circuit in the same area of the field that he was in Jarama. The Hungarian driver ended up 11th with a 1:59.386 while György Kontra finished 22nd with a 2:00.349 and Attila Solti was 28th with a 2:01.397.

The field will have another free practice this afternoon before qualifying for the first race that will take place on Saturday immediately followed by another one.
