Three laps in Michelisz's Lamborghini

On the 21st and 22nd of August Norbert Michelisz was driving an all wheel drive Lamborghini Super Trofeo at the Hungaroring. It is a spectacular looking car and seeing it being rushed on the racetrack looks as good as its design. Check Norbert Michelisz's fastest lap and battle with Stéphane Lemeret.
Onboard footages are valuable treasures for racing fans especially when the availability of the recordings are limited. That is why we too became enthusiastic about the cameras Norbert Michelisz noticed in the #1 Lamborghini Super Trofeo he was invited to drive a week ago at the Hungaroring.
Norbert Michelisz had never raced such a powerful car before and certainly not an all wheel drive one like the 570 bhp Lamborghini Super Trofeo. This is enough reason to be interested in the recordings but if we note that the car's movements seem like a real sportscar then the video can be considered a must see.
The footage contains three laps from Race 2 of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo. This was the race when Giorgio Sanna handed over the drive to Norbert Michelisz from the lead but the Hungarian driver had to wait for the marshalls and his crew to extinguish the fire that caught the front left brake disc in the pits.
Therefore Michelisz lost valuable time, around 35 seconds and fell back in the order. The task was simple, drive as fast as possible and regain at least a part of what the problem took away from their duo. The three laps that have been included in the video are probably the three most important laps over Race 2.
Consistency
On Lap 10 Norbert Michelisz took over the car from Giorgio Sanna and starting from Lap 11 he was constantly driving in the 1:53s. This, considering the never ending tyre wear is a great effort including a series of sensational times in Sector 3 over four consecutive laps. On Lap 11 he did a 31.125 before two 31.124s on Lap 12 and 13 before setting the best sector time with 30.947 on Lap 14. His best overall laptime came on Lap 17 with a 1:53.335 to make it sure that he was the fastest driver on the circuit at that stage of the race.
It is when the footage starts as Michelisz was chasing Stéphane Lemeret in the white #2 Automobili Lamborghini VIP car. Lemeret took over the drive from Csaba Walter, the other Hungarian VIP driver but Michelisz quickly gained ground over him and got behind his opponent by the end of Lap 18.
Race 2 was closing to its end when Michelisz started to attack Lemeret but it didn't take long for the Hungarian driver to force a mistake from his rival as Michelisz's knowledge about the track allowed him to think forward and get ahead Lemeret in Turn 4.
Michelisz then continued his blistering pace for the few remaining minutes that were not enough to get onto the podium but nevertheless the Hungarian driver claimed 4th which was equal to the best result achieved by VIP drivers and he confirmed that his pace would have been enough to win the race.
At the end of the 40 minutes run the car driven by Michelisz and Sanna was only 21.302 seconds behind the winner Lamborghini of Marc Hayek and Peter Kox. Too bad that Michelisz and Sanna lost that 35 seconds in the pits.
Thanks to Automobili Lamborghini and Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo for providing the footage used in the clip.
